Taro de Chimida is a luxurious Spanish Finca, i.e. country
house, on the Canary Island of Lanzarote.
The property is situated in a quiet location on the outskirts
of the old historic capital of Teguise. It provides spectacular
views across wide parts of the island, including Timanfaya,
the volcanic national park.
The property stems from an original finca built in circa
1850. During the years 2000-2002 it went through a complete
and meticulous renovation and now provides approximately
1,000 sq. metres (10,760 sq. feet) of total living space.
The original design was by an architect who worked very
closely with the late world famous artist, Cesar Manrique.
Manrique, who was from Lanzarote, was a personal friend
of the present owner and his influence is felt throughout
the property. The Canarian style pervades as many of the
original stone walls have been partially and carefully exposed
and some of the extensions were made using lava stones which
typify the unique and specific Island style. In total there
are approximately 18,300 sq. metres (4.5 acres) of grounds
with the property thus ensuring a considerable degree of
privacy. Special care has been given to the design and creation
of the garden which affords a huge and wide selection of
Canarian palms and cacti.
As a result of the absolute privacy offered by the premises,
various international rock and classical recording artists
and a number of prime names in the world of finance regularly
spend their vacations in Taro de Chimida.
Taro de Chimida, in all of its grandeur, combines the beauty
of old and historic with modern day amenities. The property
affords the benefit of mains water and sewage, satelite
television, 3 phase electricity as well as high speed internet
and fax access.
The property is either for RENT or SALE.
